National Masters Hockey Tournament, Lloyd Elsmore Hockey Stadium, Auckland, November 19th – 25th 2017.

Team entries are now open

We have made some additions and minor adjustments to age grades for this years tournament:

35+ GRADE TO BECOME 34+ GRADE

In order to continue to grow this very important age grade within Masters hockey, HNZ have made the decision to allow those athletes who are turning 34 by the end of 2017 (ie. Born in 1983) to participate in the tournament, and thus rebranding the 35+ grade for both Men and Women to the 34+ grade. This has the bonus of allowing those athletes wanting to make themselves available for Masters World Cup selection in 2018 the opportunity to be seen by their respective coaches and selectors.

INTRODUCTION OF 60+ WOMEN AND 65+ MEN GRADE

As per above, in an effort to grow our Masters community and to alleviate previous issues around competitiveness of all teams in the grades above, HNZ have decided to introduce the 60+ Women and 65+ Mens grades in 2017. We must have a minimum of four (4) teams entered into these grades in order for them to continue. Should we not reach the 4 team minimum, the grades will continue to be merged with the 55+ Women (60+ Women) and 60+ Men (65+ Men).
