Hockey is one of several sports who participates in Voice of the Participant – an annual survey led by Sport NZ and Nielsen that aims to capture and interpret membership data in a meaningful way so that Hockey NZ, Associations and Clubs can utilise the information to improve the overall hockey experience for their members.
We take part in the survey every two years and utilise the results to complement the other data we collect to help us make insight and evidence-driven decisions for our sport.
We did not take part in the 2020 survey due to the impact of Covid-19, but in July we will once again be distributing surveys to members via a variety of channels. We ask that Associations please assist with this by advertising on their websites, social media channels and also by directly sending to clubs.
An exciting new feature of Voice of the Participant 2021 is the inclusion of Club and Association summaries. Nielsen will provide a short summary report (approximately two pages) with results for each Club/Association with more than 30 responses.
We will be offering an incentive in the form of spot prizes for some lucky survey respondents.
We will be back in touch with further information and next steps in early July, but in the meantime, you can read more about Voice of the Participant here and you can view the Voice of the Participant 2018 results for hockey here.
