Ford National Hockey Championships Postponed

Hockey NZ, in conjunction with the thirty-two hockey associations around the country, have come to the decision to postpone the Ford National Hockey Championship until the week 14-20 November.

While disappointing, Ken Maplesden GM – Community and Events, acknowledged that it was the best possible course of action “given the uncertainty which remains around changing Alert levels, and the need to prioritise a safe return to hockey”.

“The Ford National Hockey Championship is an important event on the hockey calendar, and Hockey New Zealand, Tauranga Hockey and the participating Associations are looking forward to what will be a memorable celebration of community hockey in November”.

The tournament, originally planned for the 12-18 September, will still be held in Tauranga, and will follow the same format, across the same number of scheduled days.
