Volunteer Week: WIN by sharing your volunteer stories

National Volunteer Week celebrates the collective contribution of the 1.2 million volunteers who enrich New Zealand every year.

We have hundreds of volunteers throughout the hockey community. These people range from those that are an integral part of our events like the FIH Pro League to the many volunteer umpires, coaches, managers, administrators and board members helping out on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis to make hockey the sport that it is in this country.

This years’ volunteer week runs from June 16-22 with the theme of “Whiria te tangata – weaving the people together” which is why we have teamed up with Kookaburra to weave the hockey community together with their volunteer appreciation stories.

Throughout the week we want people to tell us about a volunteer who they believe has made a real contribution to the hockey community so that we can randomly select someone to be the winner of a $500 RRP Kookaburra voucher.

Kookaburra have been a loyal supporter of hockey in New Zealand for 25 years, and at the heart of this great sport are the volunteers acknowledged Kookaburra NZ’s General Manager Jason Mills. “We are thrilled to work with Hockey New Zealand during the 2019 National Volunteer Week as well as other community initiatives throughout the country.”

To enter the competition all you have to do is fill out our short form below with a story about someone you think is deserving. We will be accepting entries for this competition until 8:00am on Friday, June 21. A winner will be randomly selected and notified within 4 days of the closing date.
