Our High Performance & Pathway Strategy for 2024-2032
We’re on a mission to build a new national high-performance and pathway system that delivers a legacy of Black Sticks success and public engagement.
This can only happen with leadership throughout the New Zealand hockey community.
So where to first?
From now until the end of 2024, we’re accelerating the development of five strategic areas:
REGIONAL HIGH PERFORMANCE MODEL
DOMESTIC PATHWAY COMPETITIONS
ATHLETE COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK
TALENT IDENTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT
FUTURE BLACK STICKS COACHING PLAN
This block of work is called Hiki Tū, embracing the hockey community in New Zealand and asking everyone to ‘lift where you stand’. It’s inviting our respective areas to be part of building momentum for lasting change that’s needed to ensure future success.
On 13th November we held two sessions to update everyone on our progress. If you missed this please contact michelle@freshminds.nz for a copy of the presentation.
If you’d like to provide feedback, please take the survey here.
We need the minds of everyone to make collective change. Earlier in August, we publicly invited expressions of interest to form diverse working groups.
For each of the five strategic areas above, working groups have now been appointed to work on the initial phases of these projects between August and December 2024.
Our working groups and the overarching focus of their work can be found below.
