91 teams descend on Whangārei & Kaikohe for the 2025 Vantage National Masters

One of the most anticipated events in the Hockey New Zealand calendar is nearly here. From 23 February to 1 March 2025, Whangārei and Kaikohe will host the Vantage National Masters Hockey Tournament, bringing together 91 teams, 1,400 players, and 251 fixtures in a week of competition.

The tournament brings together the country’s Masters players, where skill meets legacy and old provincial rivalries are reignited each year. It’s also a key selection event for the New Zealand Masters teams.

"This year marks a milestone with the introduction of the M70's grade, a testament to the tournament’s growth and the dedication of its players," says National Masters Coordinator Peter Lowndes.

The tournament will officially commence with a pōwhiri on Saturday, 22 February, welcoming all teams and officials to Northland. The competition begins the following day on Sunday, 23 February, with matches scheduled throughout the week until the finals day on Saturday, 1 March.
