In an exciting development for our hockey programme, China Hockey has extended an invitation to a newly formed New Zealand A women's team to compete in their Two Lakes Innovation Cup in May. This tournament will also feature teams from South Africa A and Korea A, promising a good level of competition.
With many familiar faces, the team that will represent New Zealand A is as follows:
New Zealand A Team
Antonia Cortesi
Arabella Sheild
Breana Catley
Brodie Cochrane
Ella Hyatt-Brown
Isabella Ambrosius
Issy Story
Jaimee Eades
Jenna-Rae McIntyre

The tournament will provide the selected players with international matches, ensuring the players remain in a competitive environment and will serve as a check point for not only personal development but those returning from injury allowing them to benchmark their readiness for international hockey again. It will also help bolster the depth of our Vantage Black Sticks (VBS) women’s programme.
We’re grateful to our hosts in China for their financial support of this event, which underscores the spirit of international collaboration within our hockey community and are looking forward to watching the girls compete together soon.
