Masters World Cup – Auckland Round Up

National Hockey Centre – North Harbour successfully hosted the Masters Hockey World Cup 2024 from the 7th -16th of November. This global event brought together 129 teams from 23 countries, featuring over 2600 competitors across various age groups.

New Zealand ended up with 17 teams playing a combined 106 matches for 60 wins, 10 draws, 36 losses and scoring 261 goals to 157 against. Old rivalries were renewed (and some new ones created), plenty of friends made (off the turf), many refreshing beverages consumed and our Kiwi culture was certainly showcased to the world.

Hockey New Zealand would like to say thanks to all who competed and congratulations to all the medal winners!

Special thanks to Cameron Wilson, the Event Director, Peter Lowndes. Masters Co-ordinator, Denise Smith, NZ Team contingent lead, North Harbour Hockey, Auckland Hockey, and our partners New Zealand Major Events and Tātaki Auckland Unlimmited for making this event a resounding success.
