National Developer Residential Workshop
Hockey NZ hosted its annual National Developer Residential Workshop in Mount Maunganui recently, with the support of Tauranga Hockey.
The three-day event brought together 14 new Developers from 7 Associations, and focused on enhancing their skills in coach development. Over the three days, participants engaged in intensive training sessions, gaining valuable insights into the Developer Approach.
The workshop was led by Trainers Danielle Cranston, Kelly Hudson, Bevan Nichol, and Joe Piggott, with support from Lisa Williamson, Simon Insley, and oversight by Ben Owers. We also welcomed Simon Insley from Northern Districts Cricket and Maggie Martin from Canterbury Cricket for some cross-code learning, allowing the team to learn from and exchange different coaching strategies and perspectives.
Overall, the workshop provided a platform for Developers and Trainers to connect and share experiences, fostering a collaborative environment that will benefit the hockey community in the long term.
The success of this year’s workshop is a testament to the dedication and passion of our Developers and Trainers, as well as our outstanding hosts, Tauranga Hockey.
